HMCS Regina Sailors To Display World's Largest Riders Flag

Sep 23, 2017

Sailors from HMCS Regina are currently in town on a namesake city visit and will spend some of their Saturday displaying the world’s largest Saskatchewan Roughriders flag.

Members of the Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Regina are attending Strength Trough Support, a charity event in support of the Chris Knox Foundation, which supports children and young adults undergoing cancer treatment.

HMCS Regina has teamed up with the Victoria Square Shopping Centre and Regina Fire and Protective Service to display the world’s largest Saskatchewan Roughrider Flag from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the event.

According to the Department of National Defence, “these visits help maintain a strong connection between the ship and its namesake city, providing opportunities for the ship’s company to give back through charitable work and local outreach opportunities.”
